Maintaining social distance, I saw the city.

Afraid and shivering, I saw the city.

Half dead, in fear of getting infected

Babbling in sleep, frightened , I saw the city.

TV, radio, WhatsApp, facrbook and phone

Threading it's eyes , glued, I saw the city.

Sitting with tightly shut doors and windows

Coughing hardly audibly, I saw the city.

Debating merits of science and God

Rushing north to south , I saw the city.

એકબીજાથી અંતર રાખતું શહેર જોયું

ભયભીત થરથરતું ને કાંપતું શહેર જોયું

ઓચિંતું ચોંટી જશેની ચિંતામાં અધમૂઉં

ઊંઘમાં ય બબડતું ફફડતું શહેર જોયું

ટીવી, રેડિયો, વ્હોટ્સએપ, ફેસબુક, ફોન

આંખોમાં પ્રોવી ધરાર તાકતું શહેર જોયું

બારી બારણાં ચસોચસ બંધ કરી બેઠું

ભીતર ઝીણું ઝીણું ખાંસતું શહેર જોયું

વિજ્ઞાન કે ભગવાનની લમણાંઝીંક કરતું

ઉત્તર દક્ષિણ દિશામાં ભાગતું શહેર જોયું
