Swiftly

it passed by

Before my eyes.

Whose,

I could not know.

Not ahead,

Not behind.

In an ambulance

It went by.

It will

Bury itself

Burn itself

In a red-hot furnace

Utterly

Alone.

મારી આંખ સામેથી

સ ર ર ર કરતું

પસાર થઈ ગયું.

કોનું હતું એ?

કશું જાણી ન શકાતું.

ના આગળ

કે

પાછળ

એક એમ્બ્યુલન્સ માં જતું રહ્યું

જાતે જ દફનાઈ જશે

કાં તો

શેકાઈ જશે

ધગધગતી ભઠ્ઠીમાં

એકલું

અટુલું.

The mind is awake, where the eyes would go? Breaking the wall that protects,where would they run? Stuck to the nail of a question mark ,it struggles, The body, where would it go, leaving the body? In this lockdown On the tree branch Some workers hanged themselves Freeing themselves from the burden of life. Please do not blame it On the pandemic. Pandemic had taken away Their livelihood, Not their lives. વાંક આત્મારામ ડોડિયા પગપાળા ભુખ્યા તરસ્યા નહીં પહોચાય વતન સુધી તેમ માનીને.... તે ઉપરાંત ભૂખ અને તરસ મારી નાખે ત્યાં સુંધી મોતની રાહ જોવાનુ અઘરૂ હતું. ઝાડની ડાળીએ ફાંસલો બનાવીને લટકી ગયા છુટી ગયા ભારરૂપ બનેલા જીવનથી કેટલાય શ્રમિકો આ તાળાબંધીમાં. મહામારીનો વાંક કાઢશો નહી સાહેબ મહામારીએ તો રોજગારી છીનવી હતી જિંદગી નહીં.
