Invitation from another planet

On a planet Named sun, My lover has sown bajari, She  single handedly ploughed the land, sown the seeds, watered it and weeded it. She has now invited me From the seventh sky, to reap the crop On a condition that Whatever mother of pearls I reap Will be my own. And I am hungry  For so many days In the Corona times. Should I go to reap the crop?

Have Patience: Girish Radhukiya

Those days will return, have patience, The roads will be crowded, have patience. The mountains of pain hang on our heads, Tomorrow for sure, will melt , have patience Why do you worry that you are locked in house? In the house, you'll find heaven,  have patience. Tomorrow again morning of happiness will dawn, The sun of sorrows will set,  have patience. The faces that you love will arrive  to see you, have patience.

Walking: Ashok Chavda 'Bedil'

I wish, ultimately I reach walking, To my village I go,walking The tar is melting in my eyes, I have branded my feet, walking. He might not have walked like , me, Though to the forest, Rama went on exile . The exhausted,broken body was crumpled, No shyam came to save,walking. No shoulder, I got  to bear my body 'Bedil' , I reached my  grave, walking.

I saw the city:J.K.Maru

Maintaining  social distance, I saw the city. Afraid and shivering, I saw the city. Half dead, in fear of getting infected Babbling in sleep, frightened , I saw the city. TV, radio, WhatsApp, facrbook and phone Threading it's eyes , glued,  I saw the city. Sitting with tightly shut doors and windows Coughing hardly audibly, I saw the city. Debating  merits of science and God Rushing north to south , I saw  the city.

Light a lamp : Aniket Kapadiya

Light a lamp So many graves,dissolve, light a lamp, The hunger wanders on the road, light a lamp. All the relations are locked behind the doors, Now no one meets the other, light a lamp. I passed the night , drinking water, Now the day looms large, light the lamp. So many are taking shelter of religion, The disease also is obstructed by the religion. I don't like living behind a mask Though it is cheaper than death,light a lamp. The sparrows, he and she, ask for grains, The dog of the king barks, light a lamp. The light is low than what I wish, Kaviraj the dead are less being burnt , light a lamp.

Corona Ghazal: Raman Vaghela

Corona Ghazal They ask me the same question,again and again, Before I answer, they wipe their eyes. The rage of Corona crosses the skies, It is the breath that bothers the mask. Now the meaning of a farewell has totally changed. How would the ambulance respond, what crematorium asks. no space for a special exchange, everything is stunned. Now when we ask about well-being,people tremble.

The Anxious World and Mysterious Corona

The human race and the world Is without any solution In the face of Corona Pandemic. There are walls Between the houses.,invisible. Or in other words miles and miles of distance divides people Here and there, everywhere The universal question is discussed:  What has not been restricted by Corona? Travel by train, air, sea, even on feet, Meetings functions, condolence gatherings, Conferences, picnics, tours and trips, long drives and swimming, Exchanging pleasantries with neighbours, friends, relatives, Taking care of the ill, Hotel, motel, buffet, parties Malls, multiplexes, clubs, Schools, colleges, universities, Dialogues, discussions, symposiums, Post, speed post, courier. Only one thing remsins Unrestricted: Death death and death! And yet in the end One feels, the world is untouchabe, untouchable  and untouchable.!

Corona Affected Person's Ghazal

The world is afraid, the virus Seems dangerous, I fight, but Corona seems the destroyer. I am dead tired and I pant constany Now the life , dependent , seems poor. Desperate breath in, and  desperate breath out, Living in pain , is an accusation. What kind of a disease is this in which the visitors too are afraid. I consider that it is an excess. I am in the isolation ward at least that is a help, It is a longing for warmth and a famine of touch. I am like an innocent dove, in apprehension  And the life, is like a hunter's net,  a trap. From being a human , I have turned myself into Corona, If I tell someone that I am positive, it is like an abuse. To be a warrior, is the real solution, Never should I lose, that is the true care. We will create new drea.,new human, new world,  Everything will change, the life is a bharti.

Corona Pandemic: Harish Mangalam

Everywhere around people are afraid, Anxious and agitated they ask:,' what happened?' 'It's Corona Pandemic,' you say. Though you have undergone cataract operation and yet there are nets in the eyes, With the eyes there in place , don't you see the hundred thousand workers in difficulties? 'Its Corona Pandemic,' you say. With the lockdown, the people are shut down, Home shelters are house full and the police beats black and blue. Insult added to injury, like distance from birth to birth. Neither compensation, nor some food to eat, My wjfe is dead , out of hunger, distressed, 'Its Corona Pandemic,' you say. Frustration and cruelty dark sheet enveloping every thing The thread of disgusting economy snapped and loosened, The lamps of blind faith lit, and thali sound was hollow, ' the weak husband is bold on wife' Hence they blame the tablagi and yanadi communities, 'Its Corona Pandemic,' you say. Since centuries, this country harbours ...

National Medal: Apoorva Amin

We have only one thali Plate That too is with a large hole In the middle. This is because of its coming in contact with Wheat  that we got from government ration shop. Now we neither can  eat in it Nor we can play it  For winning the battle against corona. Our children move around  Threading their necks Through the Thali as if  They have won A national medal Before dying as a result of An experimental vaccine trial by a Gujarati doctor.

The Sputum: Apoorva Amin

Like the remnants of semen  Stuck on the sole of feet Of our mothers Cleaning toilets of Civil hospitals Is our presence. Cold, brown and binvarsi5. Watching the gambling in his rickshaw Camus preferred to write The gambling numbers Rather than the poems. Watching Ravana of Ramayana of 1987 Our old women got so excited that They immediately changed the channels And seeing gang of old men and women of Surat merchants Stranded in lockdown Began to smoke bidis in their unique style. The schools were shut Till our children Looking for a ball With the end of a bat In the smelly heap of PPE kits Became addicted to sanitizer. Now we will make a bomb From the sputum of  The jobless, worker, after waiting for long  who took phenyl to kill himself And lies in trauma center of a government hospital. We will  throw it on the bungalows  Textile mills owners of Surat.

The Ants: Kusum Dabhi

The Ants There is an open, wide ground, They live in a collective in a hole. They come out, every dawn and dusk, No rules, no restrictions and yet everything cool. They earn together, they sweat together, Content with the little, they share, they eat together. They earn their daily wages, breaking their bodies, They offer food to the young and old, only thereafter they eat. No high hopes, not they expect much. Self reliant they work, thus they live. Corona cyclone blew, and the things changed for worst.  Like the ants swarming from antholes in month of chaitra, they crowd on the road. Bundles and children on shoulders, and old mothers they carry, Empty bellies, empty pockets, and empty minds, they walk. To earn merit, the humanists offer food to the ants, Flour, sugar and oil they mix, and move from  place to place to offer. The hypocrites, the cheats, eat the things meant for the ants. They crush the ants, cursing the ants. Why they move in such terrible sun, why they...

Oreo: Raju Solanki

Oreo This NRI dog Oreo. The poor one was stranded in Kazakhstan. Government of India under Van de Bharat Mission sent airplane To bring Oreo. When Oreo landed on Delhi Airport A Senior officer of India received him and offered biscuits. Oreo is very happy. Now it watches TV along with his owner. He is barking seeing railway tract of Aurangabad Where some sleeping poor workers were run over by a goods train killing them on the spot. You too bark syncing with Oreo And  prove your patriotism.

I cannot see: Atmaram Dodiya

I cannot see The faces of hunger and fatigue, I cannot see. The old in pain and the crying young, I cannot see. The bread has disappeared , o hunger, The terrible days of the workers, I cannot see. Losing livelihood they remember the native places,  Restless, beyond  limits  I cannot see. Those who died unnatural deaths,freed themselves from the hell. The living who are squeezed by the death ,I can not see. Waking in time is not the sign of the governments The caravan of the neglected workers, I cannot see.

You Tell Me: Nilesh Kathad

Should I live or die, you tell me. What should I do of hunger, you tell me. My boat is at midsea How to swim across the sea, you tell me. If it were a quilt,I would spread Where to spread my belly? Who would explain my soul Why I tremble, you tell me. Where to go, where to live  There is no roof, you tell me. The deadly blow is at the root How can I flower, you tell me. To whom should I talk How much should I beg, you tell me. Hunger compelled me to sell, you tell me  Where is the honor of  my body M : 9426169888 બોલ તું.

Doggy Nature

Starved for so many days The belly stuck so that It is as if the belly and back Touch each other. The breathing is laboured Speech made him breathless. He walked with trembling feet And the eyes see  blurred. He wanders for a crumb of a bread, Begs, leaving aside self pride. Weeping with tears of blood He welcomes death itself. He saw a puddle of milk spilt, Dogs licking. At the height of hunger He came on all his fours, Licked the milk  and quenched his hunger. The dog community observed  solidarity with him, No barking  and no biting Proved their honor as community of dogs. Thanking then he walked on the way to home. He saw a big queue. They were distributing the relief kits near he went and asked, 'May I too,  get some?' 'No, not if your name is not in the list. Go away , quick, go away.' He laughed loudly and left Saluting them,                          Their being doggy      ...

What is this Great Sound?,: Gautam Vegda

What is this Great Sound? Resounding the whole world The ear piercing screams and wailing Like the blows of axe on the heart. It does not matter  to the oppressors  In the least, Devoid of feeling or thinking. These screams, heartburns And footfalls Will shake their chairs. They won't forgive you Even if you wash their bleeding feet and  drink the water. The bundles that set out for their homes will reurn With the flames of revolution. Their parched bellies and throats will fan the fire. The workers will ask For the accounts.  In the revolt The forts and the empires Will crumble  And they will take away their share of bricks From the rubble.

Corona: Naginchandra Dodiya

O Corona, you have narrowed the path of life. How o cruel, you have betrayed the whole world. Such never happened even during world wars. The scientists struggle ceaselessly, confused. China,Italy, America, nations all in distress. All confine themselves, though in disorder. Corona, invisible on land and water and yet spread everywhere. All the inhabitants of the earth in sorrow. Some sit in their houses, cursing the destiny, Some hold power responsible for the rukus. How difficult are the times, anxious and worried is the world. No one rules in the least, long or short. Looming large, the dooms day, the universe is stunned and stagnant. The Ghats of Ganges

To begin with thirteen days Followed by thirty three days And thereafter for seventy five days No hearth in our hutmets was lit. Our minds were aflame In the empty pans In the corona time As a dead body of a relative  who died of the TB Burns. For thirteen days We ate in a temple. For fifteen days  We ate in a mosque. An organization, gave us food at night For ten, twelve days Took  in total  photos One thousand and twenty. We were tired. As the lockdown wad released We set out From Ahmadabad to Allahabad. We gave away all the household things That we got  With the hard earned money, To our landlord Gratis As he had donated blood To my dying daughter On a day when it was raining. My family and I Wanted to return To Allahabad, Instead  We reached a chat on the Ganges.

Where?:Kisan Sosa

The mind is awake, where the eyes would go? Breaking the wall that protects, where would they run? Stuck to the nail of a question mark ,it struggles, The body, where would it go, leaving the body? Every city, village, the directions are closed,  Where would the moment, the time go         knocking the dreams, the thoughts? The mass, that suffers discrimination and indifference, faces the void, staring at the void, where would they go? This discouraged caravan of hunger, thirst and fatigue, The small feet walking on the long road, where would they go? At every step, eyes of compassion and love overflow, Will  get this life, begging, where would they go?

Penalty: Dan Vaghela

It's someone's crime and the penalty others pay, A different truth, some lose and some rejoice. They distribute on paper and  the newspapers declare a million promises, There are separate , free food services,  and their  flags  flutter hungry of  credits. You dance, you weep, you will remain a joker, People will laugh, o assistant, beat the drum. Be Positive: Rajendra Vadhel

I am scared of a snake Even on a TV screen. If my meal is delayed My fire in the stomach Awakes. If I have to go for appearing in  an exam. In the sun, The mercury of my anger rises Above 100 Celsius. I don't go in the street Barefooted.i f i go out  I always keep oro water with me. I don't stay out of home As I don't get good sleep without AC. But in this lockdown The migrant workers slept on the railway tract. I was not much shaken with their deaths. As I am shaken with defeat of a leader. There was not so loud a sound Comparable to thst in a serial On dropping a puja thali. When in geography , I see map of India  My eyes move from Gujarat to Bihar. I see migrant workers walking , Young children, breathless and crying. When my feet ache and I get discouraged Thinking that I cannot walk Some other thought fancies me. And could all the migrant workers make to their homes? Many had died Midway, defeated. Hence, be positive. The workers who succeeded To reach their native p...

Every Atom Craves : Sahil Parmar

Since centuries We are quarantined At the end of the village In woods and wilderness,  chawls and slums. But  we were worried in the least. We lived with courage. But this corona Has stolen our strength Pushed us to the brink. Workers we are, As they are. But we, the desi, They from foreign lands. We can work Attending  the machine Standing and sweating For eight, ten, twelve hours. They too serve foreign nations. They earned your high honour Hence you sent special planes To bring them back Just prior to lockdown. Only you kept dark secret  discrimination As regards us. We too have families, wives, Young children and old parents. You forgot this conveniently. If we gather together  Your police would break our bones. The residents of your flats and bungalows Would laugh at us, On our follies. Our disaster is  not so much because of corona But because of your Secret discrimination, O goverment, great. Hunger, we have survived. Now it does not matt...

Thank You,Corona: Pravesh Gadhvi

Thank you corona. Science will defeat Corona  We are confident. But we need to thank corona, too.  The doors of temple mosque church Shut And  The cacophony Of aarti, azan, and bell Stopped. Khilafat, Ramrajya Shouts not heard. It stopped The tyrrany of Preachings by  Sadhus, saints, clerics and bishops. It halted wars, The howls of nuclear arms Ceased and The dreams of being world power Disappeared. It taught us to live Without God. It taught us To depend on science. Thank you, Corona.

You cannot see with your eyes, Cannot touch or get hold of it. Has no color and smell, And yet it is there. There is no proof of its presence, Nor there is proof of its absence. Invisible, It is likely to be here, there, Everywhere. It does not discriminate  Between the poor, the rich, the middle class, Business man, leader or worker, Officer or temple priest, Cricketer or film star, Minister, servant or a president, Child, elderly or youth. It treats everyone as equal And sticks With a single touch. For him, everyone is equal. It does not believe in Race Caste Nation Religion Region Or language. It does not discriminate between desi or foreigner, For it, Everyone is equal, It sticks to anyone Whom it meets. It goes taking away life Or leaves you alive. Yes, it does not come Uninvited, Does not touch, unless you do. Does not wander alone. It has self pride That is unmatched. If someone touches, It does not spare. If one does not understand It does not spare. It winds aro...

The Blame: Atmaram Dodiya

On feet, Hungry and thirsty, It's impossible to reach The native place. such thoughts. Moreover, It was difficult  to wait Till hunger and thirst  Killed. In this lockdown On the tree branch Some workers  hanged themselves Freeing themselves  from the burden of life. Please do not blame it  On the pandemic. Pandemic had taken away Their livelihood, Not their lives.

Corona Death:Gautam Vegda

There are the numbers of deaths How many pains do I survive? Can we die like that? Walking on the black road, Dying of hunger and thirst. You are pissed off The feet shake and break. The tears in eyes dry. The image of God shatters The courage of intestines exhausts. My grains he loots My breaths break down. Life entire he claims, Sleeps comfortabley in the house. My eyes grow bigger and bigger And then they remain open forever.

Two Poems: Vajesinh Pargi

1. There was No fistful grains. On hearth  Mother had Pebbles in the pot Boiling in the pot. The children  grasped this And slept Forgetting hunger. 2. Bundle on the head, Child on arm, Hunger in belly, Parched throat, Tears in eyes And helpless hands. With this much load We  We were rushing  towards our native house. The end of earth Is very far And the feet are bleeding. We had come  to earn our bread But we got The pain  Of entire world.

The Tongue: Dr.Swapnil Keshavlal Mehta

If caste can be determined prior to birth Your God would not have given us tongue. And when do we use it? It lies there among teeth . When we leave then We will go with the tongue The same, tongue As our ancestors. You beheaded in Dwapar, Dis our tongue speak? In Treta, a thumb was cut. Did we utter a word? Tinge is our organ An inactive organ  A paralyzed part in the oral cavity. Some time it might have been used To request To urge To apologize To urge To sing your praise To pray  But our tongue has not learnt to react. May be one two might have spoken Perhaps they may also grow silent  In four days. One memorandum, One rebellious post. One poem. Some impotent rage. Few years And some consolations. Only this much we can do. The order of voice box Does not reach to tongue Then why did you cut the tongue? Why did you do that arduous But futile labour? Will you please tell me Why the O caste Hindu friends , Who do not write their caste, How it's being there was ...

Reaching  midway Somewhere Confused Her foot fell In a pit. She fell down, dizzy. Before eyes A withered body. Chest, barely saw Chest. From somewhere he brought A blade of grass. He moved the grass near her nose, Put the grass on chest, Took few tears on tips of his fingers Sprinkled on the chest. The grass sticks, It rises slowly, slowly. She , too stood up Forgetting the stumble, Began to walk ahead Thanking the pit.

The Virus that walks on Two feet: Nilesh Katha

If I tell you A virus walks on two feet You will be surprised As you see an alien. If I tell that We come across Various types  You won't believe. One day Jamku dosi, the old woman Shouted Trembling, As if a scorpion had bitten her. With Buffalo dung in her hand While cleaning She screamed, ' o sir, away, walk a bit away, Lest you touch me! as government these days Asked us not to touch One another. An animal turned human, With wide gaze Stared at her, unblinking. I envied  the Buffalo dung. Now you know It is easier to touch the Buffalo dung than a human being And the virus Walks on its two feet.

Vanzar,Caravan, or Exodus: Sahil Parmar

From the confusion I can not conclude. Lakha Vanzara would come  With bullockpacks leaden with Grains, goods, various kinds of merchandise, But this vanzar~ It marches on and on Does not stop. Because it is not a vanzar of  Lakha Vanzara. It is a vanzar of migrant workers. They spent one and a half month. What would they do, poor , They had no money, Their Seth too gave up And the government of suit and boot Did not care. Supreme court took fifteen days  To give directive to the government. Everything around is still. Whole country is standstill. Only the vanzar moves on and on. What to call it? Vanzar, caravan or exodus?   In bible, there is a gatha, A prophet of the Jews  Hasrat Musa or Moses Lead an Exodus. Whatever you call it There is a mother of ten days old, And their are lioness like women with swollen bellies with babes. And there are women who have just given birth to a baby on roadside And soon started to walk. They are wherever and whenever they got. ...
